Our guides are active members of the search and rescue team at Lake Mývatn and are certified WFR (Wilderness first responders). We will follow closely the travel limitations issued by the Icelandic authorities.
We start from the tourist information centre at Reykjahlíð, Mývatn (next to the supermarket) at 09:00 and drive across the Engidalur valley to Bárðadalur valley and Aldeyjarfoss waterfall that is considered to be one of Icelands most beautiful waterfalls. From there we continue on the mountain road F26 until we reach an area where we have a good view of the glow from the volcanic area of Holuhraun (Bárðarbunga). From there we continue to Laugafell geothermal pool and relax in the warm pool. On the tour we take you trough the basic local geology and the latest volcanic developments in the area.
