Whale watching - Coastal area - Fishing town.

In this tour we visit the small fishing town Húsavík, sometimes referred to as the whale-watching capital of Iceland. On our way we drive trough the rough Hólasandur desert, valley’s of rural farm lands and along the scenic coastline of Skjálfandi bay.

In the rural farm land on the way we visit one of the most famous turf houses in Iceland named Grenjaðarstaðir.

Not far away runs the river Lax-á, one of the major salmon rivers in Iceland and full of birdlife.

At Húsavík we visit the whale museum and stroll around the lively harbour were the whale watching boats and fishing vessels dock. During the tour we will enjoy a local sea-food lunch at a local restaurant in Husavík.  At the end of the tour it is optional to visit the Mývatn nature baths.

A whale or Puffing watching trip can be added to this tour.
